Our Rōpū Kaumātua

Our Rōpū Kaumātua

The rōpu kaumātua play a supportive role to all of the activities of Te Whānau o Waipareira.

It is a traditional role in a modern setting. Our kaumātua have so much to contribute to the community. With their wealth of experience, their ongoing presence within Te Whānau o Waipareira ensures that even when they retire our community continues to benefit from their wisdom.

We have approximately 100 members within our rōpu kaumātua
and are greatly involved across all community events and initiatives. Membership is open to those over 55.
